Racing - Livengood Stays Strong!
The third Beaverun weekend was a double header and saw competitors competing in rounds 4 and 5 of the twelve race series. Livengood missed Saturdays round four as he was in Watkins Glen New York completing OurZeal duties with the John Walko Racing crew. However, Sunday he participated and added one more driver to Saturdays 22 kart field.
With Saturdays drivers getting a leg up on the track conditions Livengood hit the track determined Sunday morning. Conditions were smoking hot with morning temperatures in the mid 80's. Competition was stronger than ever with drivers like Caleb Loniewski, long time friend Ryan Miller, and the ever improving Chris Horan.
Large changes were made to the Merlin chassis to accomodate the now 90 plus degree weather and it was looking as good as ever. During the timed qualifying session Livengood layed down an incredibly fast lap of 57.032 seconds and held the pole until the last lap when Miller managed to steal first position away with a flyer of 57.010 seconds.
The prefinal saw a great battle between Livengood and Miller! At the drop of the green Miller took the lead but Livengood would drive by him on the straight a few laps later. Miller again however took the upper hand on the exit of turn one and drove to the prifinal win.
The final win was meant to be for Miller who managed to hold a one second advantage over Livengood at the drop of the checkered flag. Caleb Loniewski came home a very close third but was never able to really challange Livengood.
