Racing - T1PS/Chris Livengood

Turn1 ProSports dirver Christopher Livengood competed at Beaverun on August 15/16. The TAG field was filled with strong competition but Livengood was confident having won his previous race by a large margin.

Livengood was fast Saturay but ultimate qualifying pace once again alluded the Indiana, Pennsylvania native. Livengood could do no better than second and was just over a tenth off of pole position. A first turn incident caused him to fall to 6th but before the first lap had ended he was back to third. By the end of the race Livengood managed to advance to second. The final saw Livengood fall to the third at the start. However, his race was ended early when his ignition failed.

Sunday saw even tougher competition as the track was run in the normal clockwise direction. Livengood was blazing fast in practice but he was not able to equal those times in qualifying and only managed a fourth place grid spot for the prefinal. The start of the prefinal went without incident however Chris did fall to fifth. By the end of the first lap he had moved back into fourth and with a breath taking last lap pass he moved into the third spot. At the start of the final Livengood took the third spot. Just a lap later the second place competitor had slowed and Livengood took over the second spot. Both first place and Livengood pulled away from the meat of the field at a drastic pace. Livengood however was unable to really challenge for the win. With two laps to go smoke could be seen spewing from the leaders exhuast and just with just one lap until the checkered flag would fly Livengood took the lead as the leader slowed with engine difficulty. Livengood took his third win of the year by over 6 seconds.

Taking his third win in nine races Livengood has nearly clinched the Beaverun TAG Championship for a second year in a row. He would like to thank Turn1 ProSports and Cook Racing Engines for their continued and unwavering support throughout the year.
